There is a good choice of guns that can be used for Bell Target Shooting, the stipulations are that it must be a .177 calibre air rifle not exceeding 12ft lbs of muzzle energy (6ft lbs is ideal), or a .177 air pistol not exceeding 6ft lbs. It must also have either open iron sights or dioptre sights.

The most popular starter guns are the Air Arms S200 T, which is a fantastic quality gun which is built for the job in hand, sadly they are now discontinued from the manufacturer. They are still available second hand though, if you can find one.

Most people choose to use dioptre sights which is the easier option.

For further advice either chat to someone at an event or speak to your local gun shop who will advise you. If you have a bigger budget there are some absolutely beautiful target rifles available such as the one below which is a Walther LG400.
